Robert T. Clarke
Few management attorneys can rival the breadth of Robert Clarke’s experience in traditional labor law. Over the last 25 years Mr. Clarke has served as chief labor counsel, negotiator and labor relations strategist for some of the largest and most notable employers in both private industry and the public sector. He has guided the leaders of health care systems, pharmaceutical companies, airlines, manufacturing corporations and the theatre industry through day-to-day labor counseling, union avoidance campaigns, strikes, labor injunctions, picketing and unfair labor practices and has negotiated high stakes settlements, often resulting in major concessions from powerful, national unions. He counsels employers in the labor and employment ramifications of mergers and acquisitions, reductions in force and divestitures. Mr. Clarke regularly represents management in mediation, grievance arbitrations and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.
Mr. Clarke also practices in the public sector, representing State authorities, counties, municipalities, colleges and school boards in all aspects of their dealings with police and fire employees, teachers and blue and white collar organized labor. For decades he has represented public entities in collective negotiations, mediation, fact-finding and compulsory Police and Fire Interest Arbitration. He has handled hundreds of public sector grievance arbitrations, as well as proceedings before the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission, where he served as legal counsel prior to joining the Apruzzese, McDermott, Mastro & Murphy.
Robert Clarke is Managing Partner of the Firm.
